Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what StoryToShop.ai ("StoryToShop") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our websites, storefronts, and dashboard. By using the Service you agree to this Policy together with our Terms of Service.

Information we collect

  • Account & profile: email, name, handle, password (hashed by our auth provider), and onboarding details.
  • Storefront content: the products, offers, links, images, social handles, content, and copy you add.
  • Subscription & billing status: plan, trial/active/canceled status, and Stripe customer/subscription references. Card details are handled by Stripe — we do not store full card numbers.
  • Referral data: a referral attribution cookie (sts_ref), referral signups, and referral commission and payout records.
  • Payout data (if enabled): Stripe Connect onboarding/payout status and account references for approved referral payouts.
  • Usage & analytics: storefront views and outbound clicks, recorded with a rotating, salted visitor hash for de-duplication — we do not store raw IP addresses tied to identities.
  • Support & admin records: support notes, internal admin notes, and admin reporting used to operate and improve the Service.
  • Third-party connections: data you authorize us to access via APIs/OAuth or that you provide as links (see Integrations below).
  • Device/cookies: cookies and local storage needed for login, security, referral attribution, and basic analytics.

How we use information

  • Operate your account, storefront, dashboard, billing, and referral program.
  • Attribute referrals, calculate commissions, and process admin-reviewed payouts.
  • Provide analytics, insights, and admin reporting.
  • Prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our policies, and meet legal/compliance obligations.
  • Communicate with you about your account, trials, billing, and support.

AI-assisted features

Some features use AI to generate suggestions, drafts, insights, prompts, or summaries from content you provide. Internal Admin AI tools, when enabled, may help our team with support, retention, onboarding, outreach, internal summaries, and operations. Private member data is used with AI only in accordance with this Policy and our internal controls, and no AI-generated message is auto-sent to you without human review unless we explicitly enable that later and disclose it.

How we share information

We share data with service providers who process it on our behalf, including hosting and database (Supabase), payments and payouts (Stripe and Stripe Connect), email (Resend), analytics, AI providers, and support tools — each only as needed to run the Service. We may disclose data to comply with law, enforce our terms, or prevent fraud or harm. We may share aggregated or de-identified data that does not identify you.

We do not sell your personal information to advertisers.

Third-party platforms

When you add links or, where supported and authorized, connect accounts (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Meta, TikTok, Etsy, Shopify, Pinterest, ShopMy, LTK, Spotify, Substack, YouTube, Amazon, Faire, or your own website), those platforms operate under their own privacy policies and terms. We encourage you to review them. We access third-party data only as you authorize, and any authorized platform data is used to display the content and products you choose on your own StoryToShop storefront. We do not sell third-party platform data or use it for competitor research. See our Integrations Policy.

Your choices & rights

You can edit your profile, export your storefront content, disconnect any connected integration, and request account deletion from Settings or by contacting us. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete your data. Email hello@storytoshop.ai for requests.

Platform-specific data

Where a specific integration is supported, approved, and authorized by you, we may access only the limited data that platform permits and that you authorize. Platform-specific data handling — including Etsy, if and when Etsy integration is approved and enabled — is described in our Integrations Policy.
